Hillary’s New Job Takes Her Away from Video Game Issues
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) won’t be bashing video games, at least for the forseeable future.
As reported by CNN, Clinton, a longtime critic of the video game industry, was named this morning by President-elect Barack Obama as his choice for Secretary of State.
The move, which confirms recent speculation regarding Clinton’s prospects in the Obama administration, will focus the former First Lady’s attentions on matters of foreign diplomacy.
Clinton is probably best-known for her efforts to legislate game content issues while serving in the United States Senate, as well as for her outspoken criticism of the 2005 Hot Coffee scandal involving Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Earlier this year, Clinton’s likeness appeared on the “Statue of Happiness,” a parody of the Statue of Liberty, in Rockstar’s GTA IV.
