NXE: My Experience thus far.

So I was one of the fortunate individuals to receive NXE last week.  And I must say, as the change is very drastic, its sounds and avatars are more of a copy of the Nintendo Wii Mii system. It has similar sounds and effect.  Now having said that the NXE has improved the Avatar system as compare to the Wii.  But I do feel its an exact mock of the Wii.  They could of at least changed the sound effects and background music.

On to some good highlights.   Netflix.  WOW need I say more.  That is the best feature in a gaming media system ever.  The video quality is great! Now what would of made this better is if you could add to your instant queue from your xbox. But you have to do this from Netflix.com which you have to do from a PC as XBOX is the only console that does not allow access to webpages.

The Marketplace is much improved as well. But still confusing to get around, there are too many menus and still no search option. The library is so vast no one wants to scroll though everything. They did allow to do alphabetical searches along with Genre searches. But I just don’t feel it was enough.

Switching themes was a little confusing as well. It used to be in the System settings area. But now is located where it should be under you Profile settings.

Overall NXE was a great improvement. But I feel they added more Menus than they needed. But If id have to rate NXE id give it a 7 out of 10.  Id given it a 10 if the Avatar system was so much like the Wii’s version and the menu’s where better organized.
