Saints Row 2… Are you gangsta enough?

Coming from someone who never played more than a demo for the original Saints Row, this may sound odd depending on your like or dislike of the game. I got a copy of Saints Row 2, brand new to the series and have found myself addicted to the slang, the cursing, the ghetto.

The graphics are pretty decent, meaning buildings look like buildings, trash looks like trash, dead bodies look like dead bodies. I think really what draws me in is that I can customize my character to look like myself, then roll around the streets of Stillwater shooting, punching, and just being downright insane. This is stuff I would never do in real life, and lord knows if this is anything like being in a real gang I sure as hell couldn’t handle it.

The game itself has a neat storyline, one that picks up from the first game. What is nice is   that this story is also designed for those new to the series, and since I have not really played the first one it is nice that I still know what is going on. On the other hand it may not even seem like beating a dead horse with the backstory since they drop hints and bring   up the past in conversations as they relate to the present game.

Really this is a lot like GTA 4 with how the gameplay is, which is ok with me seeing how I loved that game too. The story is really what sets you apart from Grand Theft Auto, and well lets face it, how often do you get to be a gang banger and sport the pimp limp down the streets of the hood. I highly recommend at least renting this game and be the best gangsta you can be.
