World of Warcraft: Deathknight creation in upcoming WOTLK Expansion

So in the beginning, it was speculated that you needed a character that was exactly lvl 55, sitting in the realm that you wanted to create your up and coming WOTLK (Wrath of the Lich King) expansion Deathknight. Then, the requirement was changed to needing to have a lvl 55+ character and that an open spot in the realm you wanted to DK it up on, needed to exist. Ok, so yeah, it’s changed yet again, as taken from wotlkwiki:

At this time, the criteria for creating a Death Knight will be the existence of a level 55+ character on the player’s account. Once that criteria is met, the player can create one Death Knight per realm. on any realm, not just those with high-level characters. This is a separate character from your original one and can be created as soon as one of the existing characters in your account reaches level 55. After making a Death Knight, you will not lose the access to any of your existing characters.

So it doesn’t state specifically (and I’ve read a number of other sources and nothing confirmed yet) but it almost seems that although they’re giving you the option of choosing to start a DK on any server, it’s almost as if you can only have one DK total.

It’s positive in a way because if you wanted to switch realms without having to pay or didn’t want to deal with the restrictions of moving from a pve to pvp server etc. then you could start out with a lvl 55 DK and have some fun. At the same time though, you’d better be damned sure you want your DK on that server because it seems you’ll only be able to create ONE. That’s just a guess but until it’s confirmed either way, can’t say for sure.

On a personal note, I shut my World of Warcraft account down for a few months because it was starting to once again consume much of my personal time and god knows I should be more productive with the little time that I do set aside for myself each day. The upcoming WOTLK expansion certainly makes for a tempting reason to re-activate the old wow account. Bah, who the fuck am I kidding, I already brought that fucker back to life because Mages are getting a major f’n revamp…it’s payback time, bitches!. I will probably post some info about the up and coming WOTLK Mage Talents as it’s the only class worth playing IMHO. Oh and I used to play a Shadow Knight back in the days of EveryQuest so I’ll be starting up a wow DK as well.
