MGC Oklahoma City Was a Hot One! (UPDATED)
I will have to apologize in advance since I didn’t get a chance to stay till the end and get pictures and names like I did last time. The summer heat got to me early and by 7:45 I wasn’t feeling well and headed home. So to those who Won - Congrats! And if someone could send me pictures if there are any or names of those who won I will be sure to post them.
Although I didn’t get to stay as long as I wanted, the visit wasn’t a total bust. I met some really great people who share a grand vision for the Oklahoma Gamer scene. These people share one of the same visions I have for Oklahoma. Those of you living in Oklahoma or even across the borders are highly encouraged to visit OkGamers to see how you can help. Also keep checking back to the Hard Core Lan Center website, opening in the fall. I highly encourage everyone to visit those sites and keep in touch with what is going on in the gaming community here in Oklahoma.
For those who are not in Oklahoma and want to help. You can get involved with The Entertainment Consumers Association (ECA) . The ECA is a Non-For-Profit group that help protect gamer rights. I think their t-shirt says it best - it has a picture of a Wii, PS3 and Xbox controller, and underneath it says “Contrary to popular opinion, these do not make me a killer.” So take a look, sign up and get Involved!
***UPDATE 8.03.08 @ 6pm***
Surprise Surprise! Our ole friend from the Yukon MGC won GH3, Sean Burga. Sean’s dad emailed me with some details. And once again Sean blew away the final opponent of a score 600,000 to 300,000 on the song “Thru the fire and flames” - the opponent picked the song as well. Here are a couple pics below that Sean’s dad sent from his cell phone.
Don’t forget about OKgamers.com there are more events in Oklahoma than you may think! (BTW did anyone hear if Chris Cade won SSBB?)
